5 Hours, Photoshop.

I didn't use any direct reference for this, because I couldn't find any photos of a kingfisher diving, but I referenced this [link] when thinking about how to paint the water.

Yeah, I really like this! If your looking for advise, id say the wings are a wee bit stubby and need to be bent if its going to give the impression of taking off!

Thanks. You're probably right about the wings, I knew there was something awkward about them. Perhaps I should have spent longer on the sketch.

Thanks, not really sure about the size - I don't live by a river so I rarely see them, but the birtish ones have an average wingspan of 25cm - so theyre not very big.
