I haven't really been an active member of this website for months, and I don't think I can really be bothered with it any more.

I recently set up a Blogspot account [link] which I will keep updating, so please drop by and leave me comments there.

However, until I feel like I have some new work that I'm really proud of, I won't be back here. So until then, goodbye and thanks for your support.

    Good news!
I got an unconditional place on the Foundation Art course at the University College Falmouth! (It’s a well renowned art college in Cornwall, near the southern most tip of England). That’s what I’ll be doing next year, so if that goes well I’ll be posting things up here a lot more often. After that I’m considering an Illustration course.

Strangely, I stopped doing digital artwork a while after getting my Intuos tablet, but I have been using it in my coursework, and I’ll be putting up the finished piece sometime soon(hopefully). I think after working so long on the computer I felt a little out of touch with working traditionally with pencil and paper, so it has been quite refreshing to take a break from it. It’s also because one of my biggest inspirations, Joao Ruas, works largely with pencil, watercolour and gouache, and I have been experimenting with these mediums. If you haven’t seen his work I seriously recommend you take a quick look at his blog [link] and if you like those then perhaps you’ll like Wesley Burt too. His website is a bit glitchy at the moment but you can see some examples here [link]

Anyone seen the trailer for 01-18-08 yet? There’s a lot of speculation over what it might be, but it looks set to be an absolutely incredible film. Here’s the trailer [link]
    Thoughts?

I watched Vyle’s Concept art DVD again, and now I feel all fired up to start some more custom brush pictures. Expect some soon.

I'm also having another small problem with Photoshop. Usually when I'm using my brushes I hold ALT down, and the colour picker comes up. It still does, but when I select a colour it comes up as my secondary colour, not my primary one. This doesn't really affect my art much except for the fact that it slows me down a lot. I've already posted a help thread on the forum, but I thought I might mention it here to incase anyone can help?

I also thought I’d point you in the direction of new and very talented member of DA. You can more of his art on his website [link]
